About

Love for the Orphan was started in 2011 by Matt Tipton. First and foremost, the vision for this ministry was birthed from being led by the Spirit to simply “be with and around” orphans in their distress.

What is the mission of Love4theorphan?

Love4theorphan exists to demonstrate the Love of Christ to orphans worldwide by being with them and sharing with them the God-given gift of music.

Who is Matt Tipton?

In the summer of 1999, I was reborn at a youth camp in Panama City, FL. My story began there when I heard someone say that Jesus is, was, and will be the father to the fatherless. That was me. I was fatherless. I never knew my biological father, and I had just left a nasty divorce between my mother and step-father at home. God hit my heart hard and punctured my soul where it hurt the most…the huge void of not having a father. Hearing that Christ could fill that void did not sit well with me at first. I wrestled with this truth because of the fatherly model I saw in my life or the lack thereof. But Christ’s Spirit came to me that night and filled the void that I had carried my whole life and I have never been the same. Recently, I learned that my biological father had passed away which deeply saddened me, but that experience propelled me forward in this new calling to minister to orphans. I’m learning more and more that I have been immeasurably blessed. I have a real father who knows me, disciplines me, loves me, listens to me, believes in me, and urges me to know Him more and make him known to those who are just like me. Sinful. Insecure. Lost. Fatherless. Abandoned. Angry. Confused.Unloved.

I have reached a turning point in my life with regards to ministry. I have been on stage leading people in musical worship ever since I became a follower of Christ, and music will always be an important part of my life. I believe the Lord has blessed me with an ability to lead people in passionate and authentic worship to Jesus, and I love leading people to the throne room to help them focus their affections on Him. Now, as God has brought a new calling into my life, I believe He wants me to use my musical abilities for a different purpose – ministry to orphans. That being said, you might ask, “So, what will that look like?”

What Will Love4theorphan do?

Love4theorphan will begin by connecting with orphanages worldwide and utlizing the gifts of music to inspire, influence, and teach. Over time, I envision many worship leaders, musicians and music teachers visiting orphans in their distress to show love for them by providing a time to learn, practice and perform music together.
